Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" is the classic story of redemption, transformation, hope, life and new opportunity.  It is the story of a second chance.  To this end Scrooge becomes the archetype of Christmas.  he is the reason for Christmas even as he is the result of the birth of Christmas in the human heart.  if we will be honest with our self, his story is our story -- with all of its potential, lost chances, self-awareness and new opportunity.
Dickens challenges each of us by ending his story with the description of a new Scrooge:
And it was always said of him that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge.  May that be truly said of us, and all of us!
He challenges us to keep the spirit of Christmas in our heart each day of the year.
Our production of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" is a direct result of our endeavor to keep Christmas in our heart.  To further assist this endeavor, the membership of First Christian Church has developed a special program structure to help live the spirit of Christmas each day.  You will find the program detail on the Honoring Christmas page.  We recommend it to you and encourage you to join in Honoring Christmas In Your heart All year Long.
An endeavor such as this could never happen without the many people who donate their time and talents in planning the event, recruiting advertising, serving as cast, stage crew, directors, production team and even you for sharing this gift.  A special "Thank You" to each and every one for your role in making this dream come true.
As Tiny Tim observed, God Bless Us, Every One!

Pastor

This production of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" is achieved through the efforts of volunteers, many of whom are not members of the First Christian Church.  Without this volunteer help it would not be possible to undertake this gift to the community.  If you would like to participate in the next production please contact us.
Assistance is needed in all areas of the production:  Cast, musicians, props, tickets, refreshments, sound system, lights, costumes, decorations, backstage crew, and securing sponsors.
